In May 2002 The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences began screening all of the 75 films that have received the award for Best Picture over the years. Each week another film is shown, each in chronological order, starting with the Best Picture Winners for the 1920's - Wings, The Broadway Melody, and All Quiet on the Western Front.

If you live in the Los Angeles area - I strongly recommend you attend this once in a lifetime opportunity.

"The very best restoration and preservation prints from the Academy Film Archive are presented on the big screen in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater, one of the finest screening facilities in the world. In most cases, the films are accompanied by the Academy Award-winning animated short subject of the corresponding year; other surprise trailers, screen tests and behind-the-scenes footage show up periodically. A four-color reproduction of the original poster of the film is featured on the cover of each evening's program and the curtain rises after the playing of that year's Oscar-winning Best Song.

The series has been produced and championed by Mr. Randy Haberkamp of the Academy. He has made this series into one with dedicated and passionate followers (such as yours truly) by creating a fantastic viewing environment for these amazing works of art. Mr. Haberkamp strictly enforces a no talking (yes, this includes whispering), no eating, and no cell phone policy - punishable by group-stoning, and in the worst case, permanent expulsion. Rumor has it Randy is soon to add breathing and blinking to the list of unacceptable practices. :-P

To those that have been attending the screenings: I have doubles (in excellent/mint condition) of nearly all the screening posters from the entire series. While I have missed only three movies during the entire series - I have managed to lose a couple of posters :-C . While I'm not terribly interested in selling any of the posters, I am very interested in buying or trading for the ones that I do not have. Any help that you can lend in making my collection complete is most appreciated. Hint: You can use the link below to check-off the poster that you have.
